My name is Mariam, I was born and raised in South Seattle. I graduated from Rainier Beach High School, and am currently in college pursuing a degree in nursing. I have been working in the neighborhood since I was a teenager.  I am currently working at a non-profit neighborhood based organization in South Seattle. I am Muslim and walk with faith. With my own identities I advocate for other Black people, especially Black women.
