Milkah Kihunah, Policy & Procedures
is a Human Rights Lawyer and Humanitarian Advocate who has devoted her career to supporting marginalized people to access essential services and resources, including education, health and economic opportunities. She has 20 years’ experience working in the private and non-profit sectors in the US and more than 10 countries in Africa and Asia, working with organizations such as CARE International and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She has led advocacy campaigns to advance workers’ rights and address violence against women, and has implemented community-based programs in various countries to strengthen public health, basic education and support refugees and internally displaced persons. She holds an MA in International Relations from Yale University and a Law Degree from the University of Nairobi. She is originally from Kenya and lives in Seattle with her family.
